David Hytha is an Executive-in-Residence at Sofinnova Ventures. David’s 25-year career in mobile communications began at AT&T in the early 1980s where he established both its semiconductor business and its wireless infrastructure operations in Japan. While at AT&T, David founded the first department of Bell Laboratories outside the United States. In 1994, David developed new businesses for AT&T/McCaw Cellular and started what became FarEasTone, a major GSM operator in Taiwan. David was also CEO of LGC Wireless and an Executive Vice President of Terminals at T-Mobile in Europe. David serves on the board of directors of Streamezzo Ltd., Renaissance Wireless and Catalyst Mobile, and he holds an MBA from Columbia University and a BA from the College of the Holy Cross. | ![]() |
