In Memoriam: Nicola Campbell
Our friend and colleague Nicola Campbell passed away decades before her time. Nicola was both friend and partner to all of us at Sofinnova, a consummate professional known for her integrity, her teamwork, and commitment to the entrepreneurs and investors she worked alongside. For those of us fortunate enough to have known Nicola, we will miss our good friend with her quick wit and compassion to help others.
Nicola was accomplished, with a career as a partner with Sofinnova Ventures, and focused on early-stage investment opportunities in drug discovery and pharmaceutical and biologic development. She also established TWIST, a Life Science networking group that regularly brought together investors and entrepreneurs in the San Francisco Bay Area. She received her Ph.D. from Mount Sinai Medical Center and, prior to joining Sofinnova Ventures, Nicola held positions with BA Venture Partners (now Scale Venture Partners), Burrill & Company and Genentech.
We will always remember Nicola, and are incredibly thankful for the professional and personal contributions she made in her life. Although words can not fill the hole in our hearts, we offer our sincerest condolences to her family and friends.
