Karen Roberson Kamel
Director of Marketing
Karen initially joined the firm in 2001 as Director of Marketing, managing marketing and public relations initiatives for Sofinnova and acting as a PR advisor to portfolio companies. She returned to the firm in 2009 following two years in Paris, where she worked for Sofinnova Partners.
Previously, she was also an account supervisor for Eastwick Communications, a Silicon Valley high tech PR agency. Preceding Eastwick, she was a marketing and PR manager for the corporate law firm Cooley Godward. She also worked for a Washington, D.C. healthcare consulting firm, where she developed educational campaigns pertaining to pharmaceutical products.
Karen began her career at a boutique PR firm when press release distribution still entailed hours of folding, stuffing and licking.
As a college student she interned in the White House press office, and earned a degree in Communications from UC Santa Barbara.
