Smita joined Sofinnova BioEquities as a Controller in 2026. She focuses on accounting and finance for the public equity team.
Prior to Sofinnova, Smita was the Controller at Intrinsic Edge Capital Management LLC, overseeing fund accounting, investor reporting, regulatory compliance, audit coordination, budgeting, and cash management across multiple investment vehicles. Previously, she held leadership roles at Gen II Fund Services, Jump Trading, Jump Capital, and Wolverine Asset Management, managing fund administration, portfolio accounting, valuation analysis, regulatory reporting, and team development for multi-billion-dollar investment platforms. Earlier in her career, she worked as a Senior Consultant at Navigant Consulting, specializing in forensic accounting, fraud investigations, and litigation support for complex financial cases involving investment management firms and hedge funds.
Smita received her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Accounting, and Business Process Management from Indiana University. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Illinois.
